Hot-dip galvanizing is a common metal surface treatment process and is widely used in the anti-corrosion protection of steel products. In the hot-dip galvanizing process, iron removal equipment plays a crucial role, mainly used to remove iron impurities in the galvanizing solution and ensure the quality and process stability of the galvanized layer.

1. Remove iron impurities
Source of iron impurities:

During hot-dip galvanizing, the iron on the surface of the steel workpiece will react with the zinc liquid to form zinc iron alloys (such as FeZn13), which will be suspended in the zinc liquid in the form of solid particles.

Iron impurities may also come from iron oxide on the surface of the workpiece or iron filings generated by wear of the equipment.

The function of iron removal equipment:

Through filtration, precipitation or magnetic separation, iron impurities in zinc liquid can be effectively removed and prevented from affecting the quality of the galvanized layer.

2. Improve the quality of galvanized layer
Reduce zinc slag:

Iron impurities are one of the main components of zinc slag. Iron removal equipment can reduce the generation of zinc slag and improve the purity of zinc liquid.

Improve the appearance of the coating:

After removing iron impurities, the galvanized layer is more uniform and smooth, and the appearance quality is significantly improved.

Enhance adhesion:

Pure zinc liquid can better combine with the substrate and improve the adhesion of the galvanized layer.

3. Extend the service life of zinc liquid
Reduce zinc waste:

Iron impurities will accelerate the oxidation and loss of zinc liquid, and iron removal equipment can reduce the waste of zinc liquid and extend its service life.

Reduce production costs:

Reduce production costs by reducing the frequency of zinc liquid replacement.

4. Improve production efficiency
Reduce downtime:

Iron impurities can cause equipment to be blocked or malfunctioned, and iron removal equipment can reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.

Stable process parameters:

After removing iron impurities, the composition of zinc liquid is more stable, which is conducive to maintaining the stability of process parameters.

5. Environmental protection and safety
Reduce waste slag emissions:

Iron removal equipment can reduce the generation of zinc slag, reduce waste slag emissions, and meet environmental protection requirements.

Improve the working environment:

Reducing iron impurities in zinc liquid can reduce equipment failure rate and improve working environment.
