Metallocene polyalpha-olefin (mPAO), mPAO Base Oil, as a brand-new generation of base oil for lubricating oil synthesis, is obtained by the catalytic polymerization of alpha-olefin in a metallocene catalytic system. Compared with the traditional PAO, it has significant innovations in both structure and performance.
mPAO has a unique comb-like structure. Traditional PAO molecules have prominent bases, from which short and long side chains extend in a disordered manner. mPAO, on the other hand, uses metallocene single active centers as catalysts. Its unique geometric structure enables the production of uniform chemical products, presenting a comb-like structure without upright side chains. This unique comb-like structure endows mPAO with many advantages. Compared with traditional PAO, it has improved rheological properties and flow characteristics, thereby being able to provide better shear stability, a lower pour point and a higher viscosity index. These performance improvements enable mPAO to achieve better wear protection when formulating finished lubricating oil, thereby reducing equipment energy consumption, enhancing energy efficiency, and extending the oil change cycle, providing a more powerful guarantee for the operation of high-end equipment.
mPAO focuses on highly demanding application fields, including high-end automobiles, aerospace, navigation, military, high-speed trains and other areas. In these fields with extremely high requirements for equipment performance and lubrication, mPAO, with its outstanding performance, can formulate finished lubricating oils with higher shear stability, viscosity index and better low-temperature performance, meeting the special needs of equipment in these fields, ensuring the efficient and stable operation of the equipment, and providing important support for the development of high-end equipment.
